Nisa – Head of Buying

We have worked with this successful convenience retailer since 2015.

Role

Head of Buying

Background

Nisa is a £1.45 billion turnover company which exists to provide benefits to approx. 1,300 retailers, operating almost 3,500 stores. Acquired by The Co-op in May 2018, expansion is guaranteed with increased access to a wider product range, with improved price and promotion detail. Their ethos is to support communities around the UK, by helping independent retailers make a true difference to their local area.

A long-standing client had moved to Nisa in 2016 and approached us to fill this essential Head of Buying role.

Our network is far-reaching and we make a point of keeping up with our candidates’ movements. We had a very active candidate for this role that had been in our network for a number of years.  She had a distinguished retail career behind her, so we worked closely with her to see how her experience and background could fit this role at Nisa. She was successful and quickly in place. Once in role she then became a client, and we have recruited 7 buyers for her since then – all offered at first stage. Our relationship is so strong that over 90% of the CVs we have put forward to her have received a job offer.

Seven are very well networked - from North to South and Foodservice through to Retail. I have dealt with about 20 recruiters over the past 9 months and hold Seven in the highest regard. It shouldn't be the case, but finding a recruiter that has a genuine interest in people and pride in their work is rare. Seven genuinely seem to care about both client and candidate needs.  The view I have of Seven is consistent with many of my other friends' and colleagues' opinion of them.  I recommend them highly.
